The Wine:
This is a beautifully expressive organic white wine from Puglia, Italy, crafted with a deep respect for tradition and sustainability. Made from a blend of native Italian grape varieties, Fiano & Falanghina, this wine captures the essence of southern Italy’s sun-drenched vineyards, offering a perfect balance of vibrant fruit, fresh acidity, and delicate minerality.
Despite Puglia’s reputation for less exciting white wines, we think you’ll agree that this one is fresh, crisp and surprisingly well-balanced. It’s flavourful too, with notes that remember the sea. It’s nicely textured, with plenty of citrus, hints of mango and tropical fruits, and has a pleasing, persistent finish.
A medium-bodied, dry white that is perfect for easy drinking, and just about every occasion!
The Maker:
Antica Enotria is a vineyard just a short distance from the Gulf of Manfredonia. Luigi di Tuccio is the winemaker after taking over from his father. Together, they transformed the ruined farmhouse on the plot into a working winery and barrel aging cellar. The vineyard has been cultivated organically since 1993. The older vines are trained to the traditional local Puglia pergola, while the younger plantings are trained to the spurred cordon.
Food Pairing:
Works well as an aperitif, with cold dishes and seafood.
