The Wine:
Fresh and fragrant with notes of rose, wild strawberry and fresh berries. Lightly sparkling, naturally cloudy and thoroughly easy drinking. A charming and fun wine with real personality
Italian, lip-smacking, nostril invading, fizzy fun. Lemoss Rosé is made from Glera, the Prosecco grape variety, Pinot Nero (Noir) and the indigenous Raboso from Veneto, but using the old-fashioned col fondo method. Dry, hazy and natural but remarkably crisp and clean. A great introduction to the world of pet-nat/natural wine, this is summery, fresh and spectacularly gluggable.
The Maker:
This independent family-owned winery in Piave, Treviso has been going since 1931. They own all their vineyards and don’t buy in any grapes or wines, allowing them to maintain high standards every step of the way.
Very much into traditions and quality, they use a lot of native varieties and a very old Veneto trellising style – the Bellusera system, that gives their vines a quite unique diamond-shaped pattern.
Located in a special place, where Venice Lagoon meets the Dolomites. Ca’ di Rajo winery is at the pinnacle of the Prosecco area. Run by the Cecchetto brothes, Simone, Alessio and Fabio, the third generation of a family who started the business nearly 100 years ago. They match tradition and innovation, enhancing native training systems and native grapes with an international vision.
Food Pairing:
Great as an aperitif or alongside light antipasti, charcuterie or soft cheeses.
Also works beautifully in combination with light vegetable and fish dishes.
