The Blackberry Bramble is one of the few cocktails that fall under the category of “modern classics”. Originally created by the legendary Dick Bradsell whilst working at Fred’s club in Soho, it was intended as a twist on a Singapore Sling, inspired by Dicks own childhood growing up in the Isle of Wight.
There’s no secret about why this cocktail has become a timeless favourite. Starting with a London dry gin as it’s base, bursting with rich notes of juniper, angelica root and coriander seed, it takes the foragers part one step further and stirs it up with rich blackberry liqueur, and a healthy squeeze of fresh lemon juice for the sour component.
Served over crushed ice, it’s a cocktail that oozes adult class in spades, whilst taking a small part of your senses back to picking berries as a child. Sit back and sip on this delicious autumn cocktail, as the oak trees turn golden around you, and the squirrels playfully dart through the foliage in search for newly fallen acorns.
