About the Wine:
Utterly delicious, medium dry Riesling. Scoring 95/100 with Master of Wine Bob Campbell who said “Delicious Riesling, with exquisite acid-and-sweet tension, plenty of power and mouth-watering acidity. Made in a medium-dry style (rather than medium or ‘M’) with lime zest, white flower, oyster-shell and mineral flavours.”
This vintage also ranks in the Top 10 New Zealand Rieslings from the 2020 vintage in The Real Review

About the producer:
Te Whare Ra (also known as TWR) are not only one of Marlborough’s oldest and classiest producers of the aromatic styles but they’re one of the most down to earth, loveable Kiwi winemaking families you’ll ever come across. Established in 1979 it makes them one of the oldest wine producers in the Marlborough area. Owned since 2003 by Anna and Jason Flowerday, the boutique 11 hectare vineyard is managed with organic and biodynamic practices in mind. With yields low, and all fruit being hand picked and hand sorted, the quality is right up there and backed by rave reviews on every vintage.
Tasting Notes:
Lifted aromas of Kaffir lime leaf, fresh lemon, mandarin and jasmine follow on to the palate. These flavours of fresh lime juice, lemon sorbet and ripe grapefruit with hints of floral spice are balanced by a fine backbone of ripe acidity. This Riesling is a dry style which has excellent fruit weight and concentration to balance the lingering mineral acid structure. This wine is finely structured with great length of flavour.
This is an absolute perfect aperitif style wine, or paired with spicy Asian and Indian cuisine.
