Producer: Benoit Aymard
Bottle Size: 75cl
Les Polissons hints at ripe berries and softly spiced indulgence on the nose, hints of palma violets, black cherries dipped in dark chocolate, cinnamon – in other words, quite a lot of lovely stuff going on. All that just keeps going on the palate, which is juicy and plump and succulent, with an irresistible balance between a silky, dark berry richness, and a sappy acidity which gives the wine such freshness and second-sip factor.
Organic, Low Sulfur, Vegan
Located in the western corner of Cahors in the village of Lacapelle-Cabanac, third generation winemaker Benoit Aymard took over the reins of his small and slightly dilpidated family domaine in 2014. He enjoys drinking Gamay and Loire reds, and it’s this freshness and drinkability that guides his decisions at harvest and in the cellar. Thus, Benoit focuses on emphasising the beautiful fruit that Malbec can offer and moving away from the more austere or over extracted style Cahors and the grape is known for.
